The entire team here at First Northern Bank and Trust wants to extend our appreciation to Women’s Resources of Monroe County, an organization that provides a safe and caring environment that encourages healing and empowerment for anyone impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

To coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness month, First Northern Bank and Trust donated $5,000 to help the Center continue their good works. As a locally owned community bank, we are strongly committed to acting as a proactive, positive influence in our community, and this includes supporting worthwhile causes that assist our neighbors and friends in need.

We’d also like to thank bank employees Maria Martinez, Theresa Thompson, Mark Goffredo, and Tiffany Cappuccino for participating in the Center’s ‘Purple Pinwheels’ event, held at the Monroe County Courthouse, during which they helped set up purple pinwheels to show solidarity with the 985 survivors of domestic violence who sought help from Women’s Resources in the past year.

Women’s Resources is holding other events as part of Domestic Violence Awareness month, including a ‘Candlelight Vigil for Survivors’ on October 22nd, and the 'Pound the Pavement Purple' 5K Run/Walk on October 27th. More information on these and other events can be found at the Women’s Resources of Monroe County website (www.wrmonroe.org).
